Public Urged To Exercise, Keep Fit

He called on members of the community to utilise the gym, as it is free and open to them to keep their bodies fit.
“This is a good gesture and I thank Huawei for having found it fit to sponsor this project. A majority of people still prefer walking by the roadside near this facility and will surely utilise this gym. This facility will also improve the face of the city whilst benefiting members of the community,” Thutlwe said.
He stated that exercise help control the body weight, builds healthy bones and promotes self-confidence. He said as the leadership of the city they also encourage healthy living and donations like this excite them. Officiating the launch, Huawei’s managing director, Ren Fujun said as much as Huawei specialises in ICT technology they take great value in human development and it is for this reason that they found it fit to fund this community sporting facility.
“This facility will be utilised by everyone regardless of age for training purposes and keeping fit. This facility is for free. I am calling for members of the public to utilise it towards promoting good health. I occasionally see people exercising by the roadside, especially by this fly over opposite this facility hence hopeful the construction of this facility will come to their aid. I am pleading with members of the community to use this facility with care so that it can benefit them for quite sometime,” he said.
Fujun said it has been proven that a healthy nation will lead to productivity at the work place and at home. He said once the community has attained good standards of keeping fit this would reduce household medical bills and subsequently ease government’s medical costs.
“Exercising also improves community social behaviour, we anticipate emerging of more social clubs, as the community keeps on sharing this facility. There will be community networking, more health friends will have an additional place for recreation and there will be new networks towards a positive healthy relationship,” he said.
He also said the facility will go a long way in improving community cost saving because the facility is free therefore the community will attain monetary saving as compared to the use of commercial club facilities.
