P7 million price tag for Vision 2016 wrap

Information passed to Mmegi shows that government will have to pay P4.4 million in salaries to staff members and P329,000 for rental.

 Vision 2016 office rental ends on December 31, and the office employs 23 members.

“The Vision 2016 Council will implement a few key activities before the launch of Vision 2036.

The plan includes the activities to be undertaken before 31st December 2016, a list of assets and their disposal, the liabilities of the institution, and the plan for staff end of contracts.

Staff members who will not be fully engaged to the end of their contracts will be paid off to leave in order to save costs.

The fixed assets of the council will be handed over to the government for re-allocation to other government departments,” the closure plan reads.

The other liabilities include telephone bills and power at P70,000 and P42,000 respectively.

On its budget, the Vision shows that it will need over P1.3 million to pay staff members gratuities and P189,262 as money for leave days encashment while for medical aid it will spend P196,193.

For cleaning services, the council says it will need P63,332, tea and toiletries P14,000, P21,000 for maintenance services and P30,000 for printing and stationery it would need.

On issues of assets, the Vision 2016 Council assets will be handed over to the government with the exception of the mobile phones.

Mobile phones will be offered to staff to purchase them at the netbook value as per the Vision 2016 Council mobile phone policy.

“Staff members that will not be usefully engaged to end of December 2016 will be paid off and the contracts will be terminated,” the document reads.

The Vision 2016 Council owns five vehicles; a Jeep Cherokee, Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Hilux, Toyota Etios and a Chevrolet Spark which will be handed over to the government in November 2016.
