Speed dating for romantic hopefuls

The event termed Speed Dating BW is set up in a relaxed and intimate environment to give those with the hope of meeting a possible significant other an opportunity to have 10 short dates in one night.
The idea is for an individual to be able to settle on one person who they feel they have a lot in common with.
The first event will be held on September 19, 2016 at Test Kitchen in Broadhurst.
Phetlhe said she has realised that busy schedules, and other challenges in life make it increasingly hard for individuals who are not in relationships to meet, to find individuals to settle with, hence the need for a service to bring people from different backgrounds and characters together under one roof.
“The idea is to give people an opportunity to meet new people in a controlled environment, with the hope that they will find their match,” she said.
She explained that each individual who registers will meet 10 different people in one night, and each date will be strictly eight minutes, to accord participants to have equal time with each individual. She further explained that the plan is to make the event intimate in order to respect participants’ privacy.
“We don’t want a situation where it will be public knowledge that the couple met through Speed Dating BW.
“Some people value their privacy and we intend to make the event a private affair,” Phetlhe added.
Phetlhe said participants will be given leading questions, but explained that individuals are free to ask questions of their own as well.
“A rate card will be submitted at the end of the evening, and it is what the moderator will use to tally results, and do call backs to individuals who were a match,” she said.
Registration fee is P200, which includes finger foods and drinks. Phetlhe emphasised that interested individuals should register before hand. Participation in Speed Dating BW is open to individuals who are 25-years-old and above.
