A channel playing primarily youthful content across a variety of genres, NOW!TV is mandated to provide entertainment, empower the youth of Botswana and grow the local film and television industry.

NOW!TV joins the rest of the DStv channel offerings at a time when efforts to grow the local creative industry have significantly intensified.  The addition of NOW!TV speaks directly to MultiChoice Botswana’s commitment to growing local content-offering and making great content more accessible in the communities in which the business operates.

MultiChoice Botswana managing director, Katlego Arnone said they are excited about this agreement, as this collaboration results in universal access, making NOW!TV content available to all Batswana residing in Botswana.  “MultiChoice Botswana is a proud supporter of the local film and television production industries and looks forward to more local youth-content being showcased on the DStv platform,” Arnone added.

Speaking of NOW!TV and the ministry’s partnership with MultiChoice Botswana, permanent secretary to the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development, Kago Ramokate said that this is an exciting development.

“NOW!TV serves as a platform to provide an opportunity for empowerment of local youth/film producers. The partnership with MultiChoice provides a wider audience and exposes emerging local actors and producers,” he said.  DStv Botswana subscribers can look forward to exciting programmes such as Unplugged TV!, which takes a look at some of Botswana’s trendy events, people and concepts,

What’s the Fuzz – your go-to for all things hip and happening in Botswana, and Blessed Hands – a talk show, which tackles every day issues in our country.   In its quest to make entertainment more accessible, MultiChoice will also avail NOW!TV on demand via its DStv Catch Up and DStv Now services from June 6, 2019.   This according to Multichoice will enable subscribers to enjoy the best local shows at their convenience and on the go.

Local producers are encouraged to get into contact with the Channel Management team for the submission of their productions. NOW!TV launched on DStv Channel 290 on June 4 at 10am and will be available on Access, Family, Compact, Compact Plus and Premium packages.
