'More People Will Resign From BDP'

Khama made this revelation on Saturday at Marajah conference centre in Gaborone.
The gathering had to be moved from Tsholofelo hall after the BPF found the venue locked though the party says it had already paid to use the facility.
“Our party is growing fast, we have members who support from south and some from BDP who will support us after our party has fully been registered,” Khama said.
“A lot of things will come out clear after our party launch. It will be clear about people who are with us and those that are not. Some have even invited me at Kgalagadi to address them. Our party will be launched soon.”
Though it is not clear what BPF slogan is, mostly they are using “ke nako”.
Declaring his commitment to his new cause, Khama said he is going to work hard for the party to win some council and parliamentary seats in the October general elections. Regarding reconciliation efforts with President Mokgweetsi Masisi, Khama denied reports that he called for a meeting with his successor.
BPF convener Butale said the party members settled for blue and black for its colours.
“We are not using the country’s colours and we don’t know why our colours could be rejected. The country’s colours are blue, black and white,” Butale said.
“It is the Registrar of Societies and the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) who could reject our colours not anyone else. Our party will be launched after it has been fully registered. The Registrar has given us two weeks and we hope he would not delay as it has been the case.”
BPF would elect its interim committee during the congress.
Butale disclosed in 2019 general elections, they would negotiate with Umbrella for Democratic Change and other opposition parties on how they could win elections.
He also said they will be going around the country to address the members and their sympathisers on issue of elections.
“We understand that there is instruction that we should not be allowed to use government facilities,” he said.
“We will book the private facilities to hold meetings. What the government is doing to harass us would not discourage us to work hard to win areas that we want to.”
