Sponsorship Coordinator at Orange Botswana, Mosarwa Molema said the trophy design incorporates both the kgotla cultural practices with the mobile's contribution in growing local football.

'The FA Cup is full of symbolism and is a metaphor for the spirit of the competition and Orange Botswana's role in making it happen.

At the base of the trophy is a cylindrical base that supports a melded steel shaft, which props up a football that is orbited by a planetary ring.'

'Propping up the melded steel shaft are miniature rods. The rods are symbolic of the kgotla system.

In much the same way that everyone is able to have a voice at the kgotla, the FA CUP affords an opportunity for football teams across the nation's leagues to take a shot at winning the ultimate prize. Melded steel shaft represents the merging of the different divisions within the BFA.'

A golden ball sits atop the shaft. It is symbolic of Orange Botswana's ambition to contribute to the elevation of local football. A planetary ring surrounds the ball and represents the fans.

Football would not be possible without the support of the fans. These are the ultimate guardians and custodians of the beautiful game and their support holds local football (the golden ball) in place,' Mosarwa explained.
