Duo nabbed for dagga possession

Kgari Cosmos Maretele, 49, of Goo-Moeng ward at Ramotswa and Justice Rantsheno, 54, of Sebina ward in Serowe were arrested on Monday evening at Ramotswa border gate in possession of the bags in their Honda CRV.
The Botswana Police Service’s (BPS) director of crime intelligence, Nunu Lesetedi said the duo was nabbed after illegally crossing into Botswana from South Africa with the bags.
He said looking at the size of the bags they suspect the duo might be dagga suppliers in Gaborone and surrounding areas.
“They said they have purchased each bag for P7,000 and they are likely to get double the amount as their profit from each bag.
Despite our previous raids surprisingly it looks like drug dealers have not stopped bringing drugs into the country,” Lesetedi said.
