The carnival had nothing but exhilaration and stunning spectacle of the different cultures from different races of people living in the country including the beautiful and rich Setswana culture and music.

With its masquerade bands, spectacular costumes, lively music and supreme stamina for partying, the Carnival proved to be the greatest show the country has had for days. The young women and men looked stunning in the different costumes that were appealing to the passers-by and a couple of people who were excited joined the parade.

Others danced to the beats of drums and music that was played in the two trucks that were carrying some of the revellers while some were wearing the western gowns worn by queens and kings of old.

A major parade with beautifully dressed dancers atop a decorated moving vehicle went through the streets of Gaborone from the UB to the South Ring mall then moved to the main mall and back to the campus as a number of people kept joining the parade as it made its way back to UB. However, the stilt walking seemed to have mesmerised a number of children who cheered as they saw them. All the models looked fabulous in their different designed attires.

Some of the models were walking wearing Botswana colours while others were wearing traditional clothes such as megagolwane and German print skirts and dresses. They were also carrying flags celebrating the country’s few days to the golden jubilee celebrations. The day was filled with a lot of joy and ululations.
