It features 50 players from all over Botswana aged between 15 and 18. The players have been selected from various parts of the country such as Kasane, Maun, Francistown, Palapye and Gaborone.

It also features six national coaches drilled by specialist basketball coaches. Speaking at a media briefing on Friday, Quess Capital LLC project director, Pallab Sarkar said by 2024, the country should be in a position to compete at the highest level in basketball. He said the camp would equip local players with international basketball techniques.

Besides training, the camp also featured some exhibition matches. On Saturday, the UB Indoor Arena hosted a match between Botswana legends and Dignitary All Stars. It also hosted exhibition matches by the camp participants. “We do not want this to be just a three-day event. Some of the participants will continue to attend other camps so that there is continuity,” BBA technical director, Mothusi Thipe said. He said his association aims at having 35 coaches who have completed FIBA coaching Level 1 by next year.
