Tickets for the event were not for sale but rather all people had to do was to buy a case of Castle Lite 340ml to share with friends.

The headliner act of the day K.O from South Africa did not disappoint as he presented sets that designed and adapted to capture the ambience and setting of the uptown nightclub. K.O, whose real name is Ntokozo Mdluli extended his blend of rap to a wider audience.

The Hello hitmaker dished out songs that are familiar to the crowd like waya waya. K.O has topped the charts with his unique style and appealing lyrics.  The crowd could not help but sing along inside the fully-packed venue.

The Skhanda King rapper performed songs like run jozi to the delight of the crowd. When K.O finally performed caracara, a song that made him more famous in 2014 revellers appreciated the man who can maintains his roots but still sound urban. Back then, Caracara reached new highs for the artist when it became the first South African music video to surpass one million views on Youtube.

K.O is loved not only for his talent, but has been able to balance English language and vernacular in his delivery. Speaking of balancing the two, K.O also performed a much familiar song called skhanda love, which features Nandi Mngoma.

However it was not all K.O but local rappers also brought their A-game. Award-winning  Ban T from the #whyso came on stage to show Unlocks fans why he is one of the best in the game.

The rapper dished out some of his new offerings like helele, a song that features ATI. Ban T also performed Naomi, a hit that helped him to break into the market few years back.

Ban T went on to feature Tshego and Gemini Major in the remix of the song. His fellow rapper, Veezo View also graced the stage to perform his biggest song ever called zaka. Besides stage performers, DJs also kept the night going by presenting the best sets on the night.

The Castle Lite Unlocks in Gaborone was a shutdown of the event in Botswana this year after a version of the show was held in Francistown last weekend.

This year’s main event promises to once again thrill consumers with an extra-cold, two-day hip-hop experience to be held at The Dome, Northgate, Johannesburg, on June 17 and 18 2019. Meek Mill will perform on day one while Post Malone will conclude the event.
