Fun Walk slated for Molepolole on Saturday

Dithubaruba publicity and marketing manager, Tlamelo Letlole explained that the Fun Walk will be educational in nature. He said the walk will give participants the opportunity to see Molepolole Heritage Sites first hand, and get educational information on the sites. He explained that, the walk in a way will serve as a supplement to the Thursday symposium, which was another build-up activity to the main cultural festival.

He noted that the walk will be a plus for individuals who attended the symposium, as they will get to see the heritage sites the y were informed about by the various speakers.

He also noted that the festival will also have a health element to it, as it will encourage participants to take an active role in leaving a healthy lifestyle. He said the walk over the years has been attended by the community as well as students from different schools. The walk will start at 7am from Ikago Rehabilitation Centre. Dithubaruba Cultural Festival has been held without fail since 2007. This year’s festival will be held under the theme, ‘Maropeng go a boelwa’. As is the norm, the festival will feature a number of activities, which will include poetry, traditional music and dance, demonstration of Dikgafela, traditional choirs, games, and traditional foods.
