Oahile-Mokibe told Diwanga this after he gave evidence at his arraignment.

When giving evidence, Diwanga said on June 8, 2019 he offered accommodation to a Tanzanian man at his place in Francistown.

'He left early in the morning at around 5am and said his goodbyes while I was still sleeping.  I didn't wake up to walk him out.  Before leaving he thanked me for my good hospitality and requested my name and phone number promising to call me some other time,' he said.

Diwanga said when he woke up he found his clothes missing and he went to report the matter to the Tatitown police. He elaborated that amongst the missing items were his identity card, driver’s licence, and cash in pulas and Namibian dollars.

The accused claims the Tanzanian man had also asked to use his phone the previous night to call someone, not knowing it was one of the deceased.

However, Magistrate Oahile-Mokibe said phone calls from his phone to one of the deceased persons, his documents, a paper that had his name and phone number, which were found in the deceased's car links him to the case.

'It is for this reason that state should be given time to investigate this case further.  You will therefore be remanded in custody until July 2, when you come for mention,' Oahile-Mokibe said.
