Nthwalang are the defending Copa Coca-Cola boys’ champions, having won last year’s Under-15 title at the National Stadium in Gaborone.

The national finals will be held in Gaborone from July 18 to 20, 2019.  This follows the zonal games that will be played on June 28 in all the regions.

COPA Cola-Cola is Botswana’s leading secondary schools and youth soccer competition in line with Coca-Cola’s commitment to developing sports at grass root level.

The competition is run in partnership with the Botswana Integrated Sports Association (BISA). COPA Coca-Cola works in partnership with government and Botswana Football Association to make the tournament one of the leading events in the country’s soccer calendar.

“This year’s talent identification tournament is bigger and better. The participants and eventual winners should be inspired to do well,” Terreisha Naidoo, Coca-Cola senior brand manager, Botswana and Namibia said.

COPA Coca-Cola has produced many notable stars who have excelled in the local, foreign leagues and the national teams. COPA Coca-Cola is a national youth football tournament that seeks to support the development of grassroots youth talent. 

Today, COPA Coca-Cola occurs in 68 nations around the world including USA, Argentina, Brazil, Germany and Chile, and culminates in a World Cup Style International COPA Coca-Cola tournament.

In Africa, COPA Coca-Cola is played in countries such as South Africa, Mozambique, Zambia, Uganda, Kenya, Angola, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe.  COPA Coca-Cola is also played in the Americas, Europe and Asia.

Coca-Cola exposes hundreds of youth from far-flung corners of the country to life-skills training and world class football coaching and provides an opportunity for these budding football stars to meet and interact with peers from other parts of the region and the world.
