The 24-year-old starlet made a come back to the pageant industry a few weeks ago where she participated and won the Miss Botswana Consumer Fair 2016.  Recently Mariri spoke to Showbiz about her recent title and her previous titles. “If you recall well, my last competition in USA was the last ordinary pageant because I felt I had achieved my dream by representing the country. Miss Botswana Consumer Fair was not an ordinary pageant as this was a platform to give young female entrepreneurs an opportunity to grow their business ideas. This was an opportunity not to be missed,” said Mariri.

The model runs an entity called Beauty Hub Academy, which offers courses on public speaking, presentation, make-up artistry and modelling. Participating on this pageant meant that Mariri earned some entrepreneurial skills and funds to boost her business.

“The title to me is a dream come true. I have worked on Beauty Hub Academy since last year but it has always been what I wanted to do many years. Winning it was God’s answer to my dreams; now I have funds for the academy”. Due to her rich experience in pageantry, Mariri managed to find her way throughout the Miss Botswana Consumer Fair bootcamp where they were drilled on a number of elements, which centred mainly on entrepreneurship.

“My experience in pageantry has been amazing. There have been so many ups and downs but above all I have grown to become a very responsible confident young woman”.

Mariri holds titles from various pageants such as Miss My News, Miss World Tourism World Botswana and Miss Petite Botswana. She has auditioned for Miss Botswana three times but due to her short stature she could not make the grade.
