TswakBee drops the Varsity Drop Out EP

With the hip-hop era instantly changing sounds and trends TswakBee was wise enough to play around with various sounds on the EP.  “I wanted to show ability and versatility from the usual Botswana sound. Basically the plan was to make it sound international so it caters for a multicultural audience,” TswakBee said.  Despite having different sounds on the album, TswakBee shows a strong character on songs such as Ian Khama, a tribute to the President, 1Favo, Letter to my ex and Hot. Despite having 10 tracks on the project, the Motswako rapper decided to call it an EP because he believes for an album he has to put in more work. “I have too much respect for an album. I want my first album to be a life changer. The EP is meant to spread the music and grow the brand,” he said For an EP the sound from VDO is well constructed. TswakBee worked with a number of producers such as Spryt, Dolla Gang and Otizy who produced 75 percent of the album. The rapper named the EP Varsity Drop Out after he dropped out of tertiary due to certain challenges that stopped him from perusing his studies.

“This project is meant to inspire young people that have left school due to different reasons. I want to show them that through passion you can live your dream life. I didn’t drop out of school intentionally. I tried my best but I couldn’t coz music was the only thing that was easy for me”. The VDO EP features rappers from different backgrounds that came with different levels of energy. The EP has the likes of Touch Motswako, Apollo D, Ozi F Teddy, Noello and Fio Matt Halla.  TswakBee is currently working on distributing the EP online.
