Looking back, TFly told Showbiz that he started music in 2013 after spending several years as a dancer. He however indicated that his upcoming single will not be his first. “I had released singles like Ikasi before but they didn’t do well,” he said.

TFly said his single is intended to stick to the moment. “We are celebrating 50 years of independence in September therefore it’s a happy month for everyone,” he said. TFly said people should make the song their anthem once it comes out.

The artist who has been working on the song for four months said he chose to work with JD because of the impression he brings on the song. “He is a great artist and he brought in a different tempo to the song,” he said. The kwaito musician highlighted that the song is ready and awaiting the release date. He said compared to his previous songs, this upcoming single has improved in terms of production.

TFly indicated that the single is part of his upcoming album titled My Story. He said as a struggling musician, he hopes the single will open doors for him. “In order to produce the best quality I have to spend more money therefore I need all the support I can get from Batswana,” he said.

He said he grew up in an environment that inspired him to venture into the music industry. “I was inspired by artists such as Scar and VS of O icheke fame,” he said. TFly said for now the main challenge is getting into music shows. “Festivals always have the same lineup and most promoters do not give upcoming artists a chance,” he said. TFly said he recently got a chance to capitalise on the platform given by the Maitisong Outdoor festival.
