You can now study online with BAC

BAC launched the BPP online study mode that will give flexibility and access to study with partners IBTC, a South African distance and online professional college with over 2,000 students in South Africa which is sole holder of BPP license for the Africa market.

BPP has 42 years of experience and started out as a content provider predominantly for accountancy qualifications but evolved with the needs of students and industry.

When welcoming guests to the media launch, BAC Executive Director Serty Leburu said they had ‘won a lotto’ because they would be able to increase reach into the region and over time all BAC programmes will be available through the platform.

She further revealed that they were motivated by Vision 2036 which advocates for use of innovation and technology for economic growth and sustainable development. “That is why we are introducing a convenient, flexible, and affordable innovative way to increase access to quality education through the BAC Online Learning Study Mode,” she said.

Leburu stated that they believe BPP is the right partner to drive the platform because it has been a leader in delivery of quality and recognised accounting, business law and supporting businesses across the globe and the partnership is in line with the college’s vision of becoming the leading Business School of Choice that transforms lives in Africa and beyond. In addition, tertiary education ministry is transform the economy from resource based to knowledge based and prepare nation for future jobs of the fourth industrial revolution.

Eugene Mwaba, School of Finance and Professional Studies director who demonstrated how the learning mode works revealed that starting July all students would be given access to learning materials in the platform. “We are blending our face to face with online to promote independent learning,” he said.

BPP representative, Barry Hall-Raine said they have a model where they work closely with students, trainers and employers to provide content that is relevant to real world needs. He further said they bring to the relationship trust by big international brands. Just like BAC he said BPP has the highest level of independent accreditation. Further to that he said the students are tested continually to prepare them for exams.

Programmes available currently in the platform are AAT, ACCA, CIMA, BICA and CFA.
