Kesupile could jump

He confirmed to this publication that he was currently consulting his constituents on whether he should stay or go.
“I am still considering whether to contest as independent candidate or not. I have not finalised on the matter. It is not true that I have already registered with the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) as independent candidate. Consultations with my constituents are on going. I am a BNF member in good standing and my constituents might encourage me to stay in the party. There is nothing wrong with someone consulting because I do not tarnish the name of the party in anyway,” Kesuple said. He said his decision whether to quit or not would be known soon. Kesupile lost BNF primary elections to Billy Phologolo last year. Apparently Kesupile did not take the loss well. Mmegi is informed that since then, the MP has not been active in the party. Phologolo got 1,078 votes, Tiroyaone Khuto got 661 votes, Osenotse Mabote got 416 votes while Kesupile got 799 votes.
Following the primary election, Kesupile and others protested the results in some wards and reruns were ordered for those wards. But still Kesupile flunked. Kanye South is considered a BNF stronghold. Meanwhile, in Kanye North, the MP for the area Patrick Ralotsia has denied that he had expressed interest to join Botswana Patriotic Front (BPF).
“You are not the first person to ask me such questions. I am a member of Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) and I do not have any intention to defect. Some people are having a problem that recently I was with former president Ian Khama. The thing is that I don’t believe in intolerance and that’s how our politics has been. We do not have to hate anyone because of political difference. I don’t understand why people keep on making stories about me,” Ralotsia said.
However, sources within BPF said that Ralotsia is their man and it is a matter of time he wears sunrise yellow colours for the new political party.
