The 29-year-old joined the club on a two-year , but has struggled for game-time, as legendary keeper; Patrick Tignyemb was the preferred choice for the number one gloves man. Dambe made just two league appearances in his stay at Celtic. He was tipped to be Siwelele’s first choice goalkeeper after the departure of Tignyemb in June.

However, the club has put their faith in the young goal minders in their ranks. South Africa’s Under-23 goalkeeper, Mondli Mpoto who joined in January is tipped to be first choice in the poles. The 20-year-old faces competition from 22-year-old Sipho Chaine while another option will come from the club’s development team.

We still have Mondli Mpoto and we are going to promote a goalkeeper from our MDC (reserve) team,” Celtic chief executive officer, Khumbulani Konco is quoted by KickOff.com as he confirmed Dambe’s departure. Dambe joins another Zebras keeper Mwampule Masule on the ever-increasing free agents list. Masule was released by Chippa United just after six months at the club. Both goalkeepers have been linked with their former side, Township Rollers but a stay in South Africa is likely for both.

Locally, Rollers have secured the signature of BDF XI playmaker, Phenyo Serameng. Popa snatched the 22-year-old from Security Systems’ claws as he had agreed terms with the club. Just across the road from Rollers, Gaborone United (GU) have signed Lesego Lubinda while Namibian defender, Kennedy Amutenya has returned to the club.

The duo has started training with the team. The Reds are also chasing the signature of Lesego Galenamotlhale as Madinda Ndlovu eyes a reunion with the midfielder. Notwane have appointed Dragojlo Stanolovic as their head coach on a two-year deal. The club has extended the contract of influential, Sthembile Mbuqe for a further year while defender Moagi Sebele and striker Lungisani Fanyana have joined from relegated Mochudi Centre Chiefs and Extension Gunners respectively.

Gunners’ keeper Thomas Manyelela has joined Police XI as youngster Baokeditswe Talane is on Jwaneng Galaxy’s radar.
