Farmer charged with cheque fraud, had no funds

The accused person is alleged to have on June 15, 2016 at Droonlargte farm in Lobatse issued the cheque to one Otisitswe Kaboyamodimo as a payee whilst he knew he had insufficient funds. Smit was arrested in connection with the incident.

Granting him bail, magistrate Tumelo Amos instructed the accused person to bind himself with P2,000, produce one surety who will bind themselves with P1,000, desist from committing any offences whilst on bail and report himself to Lobatse police station fortnightly.

The prosecution did not object to the granting of bail to the accused.
