Giving welcome remarks at the launch of Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) parliamentary candidate for Tati West, Simon Mavange Moabi on Saturday, Maruje said that since it was election time, there might be change of leadership.

“Some will win elections and some will lose.  You should vote for people who will uphold the Constitution of Botswana and who respect themselves and you.  To be a ruling party is not a joke. You are carrying the aspirations of the nation. Whatever the outcome of the elections, you should continue to serve the country very well,” said Maruje.

Maruje also urged those who would win the elections to hit the ground running and carryout their civic duties diligently.

On other issues, Maruje made a clarion call to those who would govern the country after the elections to solve the shortage of land issue that is prevalent in the northeast district.

Maruje also decried theft of motor vehicles in the northeast district, which he said was worrying.
