Man dies in fight over girlfriend

Confirming the incident to Mmegi Online, Thamaga police’s Officer in Charge CID, Assistant Superintendent, Justice Modisane, said the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday.

The deceased is reported to have tracked his girlfriend to the two suspects, aged 30 and 33 years old but did not find her. It is alleged that the dead had been looking for his girlfriend at Kubung lands where he resides. After failing to locate her, he decided to go look for her at the suspects’ place.

Modisane said the suspects disclosed that a misunderstanding arose between them and the deceased when he arrived at their residence.

“They claim the deceased attacked them and while acting in self defense, one of them hit him with an iron rod. The duo were arrested and later arraigned before Molepolole Magistrates Court on a single count of murder,” Modisane said.
