Rollers defend steep prices for Chiefs clash

The high profile encounter will cost fans a minimum of P75 while a seat in the grand stand goes for P100 and an extra P10 for car parking. However, the club has defended the relatively high ticket prices.
Speaking to Mmegi Sport on Wednesday, the club's public relations officer, Bafana Pheto said the day's package is worth the price. He said there would be a curtain raiser between Extension Gunners and Notwane before the main match while entertainment will be provided.
'If you look at all the teams involved on the day, they are all big brands locally while we are bringing Chiefs who are a big brand continentally. It will be a bargain for our fans to come and watch two high profile games in the off-season at such a price. There will be also entertainment from local artists between the games, so it really worth it. There is also excitement that we will be opening our new home ground for the season,' he said.
The pricing is the second highest ticket prices for any local game after the Rollers and Chiefs' CAF Champions League clash in February 2015. The cheapest ticket was sold for P75 while the grand stand seats cost P500. Tickets for the Panda stand cost P100 while the covered stands were P200. Chiefs are expected to arrive in the country by road on next week Friday with their full senior squad.
Meanwhile, Rollers have lined up high profile friendly games for their preseason tour in South Africa. The Blues will leave this Saturday where the tour will begin with a clash against SuperSport United on Sunday before they face Bidvest Wits on Tuesday while they will end their tour with a clash against last season's runners up, Orlando Pirates on Thursday.
