Zimbabwe will host next week’s tournament at the Royal Harare Golf Club over three days.

Botswana Golf Union vice president-women, Minkie Molatlhegi told Mmegi Sport yesterday that they missed out on the tournament last year as at the time, Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC) did not have money to fund the team.  The tee-off for the doubles is on Wednesday followed by singles the following day.

“The tournament starts off with doubles, which means each country would be represented by two players. On the 18th we are playing singles. Countries accumulate points which would be used to decide the winner,” Molatlhegi said. “I expect us to do well because the team comprises strong experienced players. Some of them recently competed at the Regional All Africa Trophy Challenge in eswatini.”

The team manager is Godfrey Gorogodo. After the Triangular series, the team would proceed to play Zimbabwe Ladies Open from July 19) to 21. Molatlhegi said players from Botswana would join the team to play the Zimbabwe Open.
