BPL unaware of Forest's 'blacklisting'

Forest this week appeared in the bad books of FIFPro, a body representing more than 65,000 professional footballers worldwide.
FIFPro advised its members against signing for, amongst others, Black Forest, citing contractual violations, where the club failed to regularly shell players’ dues.
Zambian sides, Lusaka Dynamos, Lusaka City Council, Tunisia’s Club Africain and Chabab Rif Al Hoceim of Morocco, were also blacklisted.
Black Forest was relegated from the BTC Premiership last season.
The team goes down with another blot after FIFPro’s decision to advise players against joining the Mmankgodi side.
While FIFPro has issued a warning to players over signing for Black Forest, the BPL said it was in the dark about the matter.
“I am not aware because we don’t have any correspondence pertaining to that matter. I just read about it on social media last night,” Ntshinogang said.
“FIFPro has an affiliate in Botswana that is FUB (Footballers Union of Botswana). My understanding is that, if they have any issue with any member club of ours, they write directly to FUB, and if FUB sees it fit, it will notify us.”
Efforts to contact FUB secretary general, Kgosana Masaseng were not fruitful yesterday as his phone was unreachable.
While Forest is the only local club that has been blacklisted, a number of sides failed to consistently pay their players last season resulting in a litany of arbitration cases.
