Confident: Sebego

Confident: Sebego

Incumbent, Tebogo Sebego faces Maclean Letshwiti and Solomon Mantswe for the presidency, while all other executive committee positions are up for grabs in line with the new BFA constitution.

It has been difficult to predict which way the pendulum would swing until this moment, with the fight for the top post expected to go to a second round between Sebego and Letshwiti if Mantswe does not opt out.

Mantswe is seen as an outsider although he insists he is the hunt.

The 60 voting delegates are drawn from BFA’s 17 regions, the Premier League, two First Division leagues and women’s football committee.

Sebego reportedly holds the advantage in the regions while Letshwiti appears assured of support from the Premier League teams.

The First Division might slightly sway in Sebego’s favour, which might ultimately prove to be the decider. But Letshwiti has reportedly done sufficient inroads in the regions, to limit Sebego’s advantage in that particular area. The women’s league, with two votes, is said to support Letshwiti. Both candidates launched their teams and manifesto this week in contrasting fashion as Sebego returned to his childhood location of Old Naledi while Letshwiti took his to the upmarket Jessy’s Bistro at the iTowers.
