Massimiliani, whose organisation currently runs from his country of birth, Italy, says the organisation will be running in a couple of countries in the next few months, further adding that what should excite Batswana is that while most international organisations are headquartered outside Africa, his will be headquartered in Botswana.

“We are a non-profit making organisation with the interests of the child at heart and we dream of a better and conducive environment for a child. There is no way we are going to achieve this without collaborating with the already existing organisations with the interests of children in Botswana,” said the organisation’s president, Massimiliani.

He said he has assessed the situation of his target audience in Botswana and promises that his vision is perfectly suited for this country.

“Partnership involves an adequate management of the resources, decision making, planning, promoting effective coordination and being mutually responsible. We will be working with others to find the best solutions by sharing knowledge and experience,” he said.

He added that his organisation will be building dormitories for children.

“Our first goal is to renovate the existing dormitories with enough room for all the children then build a second dormitory, build infrastructure like roads and many others,” he said.

Massimiliani said he will also do distance adoption where they will be identifying one project area and schedule a long-term support. “We will also collaborate with families and communities to guarantee long lasting changes in the lives of thousands of children,” he further adds.  The organisation’s leader said he will also establish an emergency fund for children. “This operates in emergency situations and responds rapidly to an unexpected and dramatic situation as opposed to when we start mobilising resources when disasters have already hit,” he says.

A special Strength of Emergency Children, he says, is their selective choice of partners. “We believe in choosing among the best in their field (development) to ensure all undertaken projects or action achieves its predefined goals. Clarity in the definition of our goals and projects are and will remain the backbone of our success,” he said.
