Thebe, who returned from injury in April this year found the going tough against the likes of Jamaica’s Akeem Bloomfield, Jonathan Jones and Nathon Allen who clinched positions one, two and three respectively.

It was the Jamaican’s seasonal best as he clocked 44:40 while Jones clocked  4:.63 in a very interesting race.

On line 7, Thebe started the race very well and looked comfortable. However, he seemed to lose steam in the last lap as other runners caught up with him.

Thebe also seemed to be struggling for form lately after finishing last place at the Eugene Diamond League race in the US earlier this month.

After stunning national record holder, Isaac Makwala early this year to clinch the 400m title at the Gaborone International Meet (GIM) in Gaborone, expectations were that Thebe would have a stellar season but things seemed turn out for the worst for him.
