The awards will be held in Johannesburg in November. Senyatso who inherited his music talent from his late father, Duncan Senyatso told Arts and Culture that the nomination became a reality in his music journey as he had always dreamt of being given the nod for an international award.

He explained that was possible because he had always been true to his craft.

“This is the first Radical FM Music Awards (ceremony). I will be performing alongside some of SA’s renowned musicians such as Vusi Nova, Sjava, Mlindos, Cassper Nyovest, King Monada and others. They will kick start with an activation tour that will start tomorrow at Thembisa, and later on at Pretoria, Polokwane to name a few,” he said.

Senyatso will also be performing at those activation shows to introduce his music to South African fans and plead for their votes.

He said his future plans were to continue releasing more music that will conserve his culture, retain African culture and teach it to upcoming generations and emphasise originality and promote botho and Botswana’s tourism industry.

He said he also aspires to tour the world showcasing his craft, as he believes his music has more teachings and guidance.

Senyatso is the Best Jazz Artist as awarded by the Botswana Musicians Union in 2017, and seeing the awards ceremony were last held then, his mettle is yet to be tested again at home.

Last year, he went on a countrywide charity tour during the Botswana Defence Force concerts where together with BDF Bands they gave donations to different charitable trusts across the country.

He had previously shared the stage with both international and local music legends such as Johnny Mokhali, Sadao Watanabe, Koffie Olomide, Lister Boleseng, Nono Siile, Thabang Garogwe to mention a few.
