The Top Model competition will be held in London, United Kingdom from March 23 to 29 next year. She told Arts & Culture that was her biggest international breakthrough since she was the first Motswana to be selected to compete in that event.

“It really means a lot because I have been in the modelling industry for long. For the last 12 years I have been in this industry. I believe now the fruits of all my hard work are finally paying off. I look forward to doing my best in winning the competition and putting my country on the map,” she said.

Top World Model is an international fashion and model award show that aims at discovering new model talent, launching careers and creating dreams at an international level. According to Gokganwang, applications for Top World Model are done through their website. She said applications with the required specifications including an audition video are assessed and finalists are picked.

She said being selected as one of Top World Model finalists brings fabulous opportunities and a chance to win a host of top awards and great prizes, professional coaching, being dressed by top designers and being provided with hair makeup at the finals.

All the finalists from various countries across the world will be competing for awards and prizes that will be given to the winners.

“Preparing for the competition is not a piece of cake. This is because I have to pay for my travel costs, registration fees and accommodation for the duration of the whole pageant and all other extra personal expenses therefore it is a big strain financially because I have no support financially.

However, I am trying all I can to raise funds for me to be able to travel to London,” she said.

As part of the competition, the young woman is supposed to raise funds for the Top Model 2020 Charity Placement of which the funds will be used to support people living with cancer in UK, where the competition will be hosted.

The competition was established in 2007 and supports children with cancer UK charity.

It will be held under the theme; ‘Be the kind of person that makes other people want to be you’.
