The Zebras departed for Lusaka today morning where they will play Chipolopolo in the return leg of the 2020 CHAN qualifiers.

“They will not have it easy in Zambia. The most important thing is that we managed to hold them to a goalless draw. The only thing we have to do now is to go home and plan very well,” Chiyangi said after the Friday match.

Chiyangi added that the match was evenly balanced and could have gone either way.  “We could have scored one or two goals, but we were let down poor finishing. They could have also capitalised on our mistakes at the back, especially in the second half,” he said.

Zambian forward Chitiya Mususu missed a few chances during the match.

Zebras mentor, Teenage Mpote acknowledged it would be tough in Zambia.

“Of course I expect a tough game, but we can go there and surprise them,” Mpote said.

Meanwhile, it is still unclear if Zebras midfielder, Gofaone Mabaya will be fit to feature on Saturday. Mabaya, together with goalkeeper, Keagile Kgosipula, sustained ankle injuries during training on Monday.

The Zebras need a win or scoring draw to advance to the next stage.

The winner of the two-legged tie will play either Eswatini or Angola in the final qualifying round for the Cameroon 2020 CHAN competition.
