Five Rocking Stars will host the gospel show under the leadership of a local gospel artist Kabo Thaelo.

Thaelo told Arts & Culture that the show would be held under the theme ‘Fight against drug and alcohol abuse’.

He said that the event would start with a sponsored walk from Chedu Chonga to Francistown bus rank so that they can sensitise the youth and community at large about the dangers of tobacco and substance abuse in the second city.

The gospel singer said that they have found it fit to battle against such social ills because many still fall victim to the influence of alcohol and drug abuse, which contributes to the increase of road accidents, murder-suicide incidents and divorce rates.

“We want to make people aware of the impact of tobacco on their health, social and economic status. We also want them to be mindful that smoking also poses a danger to humanity as it also affects non-smokers,” he said. Thaelo also said that they are going to engage some of the performing artists to spearhead the walk and spread the message aligned to the theme.

When speaking about the show, Thaelo said that preparations for the show are going according to plan.

He said that Francistowners would be spoilt for choice hence they should attend in large numbers.  He said that it is a rare opportunity for gospel music lovers to see the acts on one stage. The musician also known as DJ Flams in the music circles said the lineup includes Chauke Tebogo from South Africa, Tau Diarora, Neo Phate, Botsogo to only name but a few of the gospel singers.

He also mentioned that they have invited Itekeng ward councilor, Lesego Kwambala, to be a motivational speaker on the day.

He revealed that security would be tight, as they have employed over eight bouncers to secure the place both inside the hall and in the surroundings.

Single tickets are sold at P50, P90 for double tickets while VIP tickets cost P200.
