The 34-year-old failed to secure a new deal with the league champions after the club proposed a salary cut.

He was then linked with Daniel ‘Chico’ Nare’s Systems. Nare is a great admirer of the Zebras captain and the deal looked sealed, but the club pulled out because of Mogorosi’s wage demands. “We have players that have left the club having been replaced. We thought of bringing in Mogorosi, he is an excellent player, but he is expensive. We have a policy here at Systems regarding the range of the players’ salaries,” said Systems’ secretary general, Billy Molebatsi.

“We do not have much difference in the players’ salaries to avoid dressing room problems. This is the reason why we did not sign Mogorosi.”

Sources, however, said the player demanded a P12,000 monthly salary and P1,500 per goal bonus.

He is linked with league runners up, Jwaneng Galaxy. Meanwhile, Systems have ironed out issues with former player Tumelo Mazebedi.

The player demanded P116,000, as his buyout clause from the club. He has since been paid an undisclosed fee by the side and is linked with Prisons XI and BR Highlanders.
