The Nigerian actor-turn-comedian was previously scheduled to perform in Botswana, but failed because of visa restrictions. The organisers of the event then scheduled a second show, which was held at the Stanbic Piazza.

The ‘Gerara Here’ comedian was once again a no show, and this was only announced when the show was just about to end. The comedy event, which was scheduled to begin at 7pm, started late with less than a handful people in attendance.

When the host of the night, Phaphani ‘Paps’ Masalila, finally came, the show looked like it could turn out to be a night of laughter. Botswana based Zimbabwean funny man, Charles Manase kicked off the show. He turned out to be the best performer on the night.

Although he seemed to repeat some of the jokes, he left the crowd asking for more. His punchlines had the crowd in stitches.

Next on stage was Facebook sensation, Juju Vine. The man who gained popularity with his Facebook short clips, failed to live-up to minimum standards.

It would seem Juju Vine, who will also be starring at another major event, the Gaborone International Music Week (GIMC) comedy show, was not prepared.

He kept laughing at his own jokes and failed to interact with the crowd. He played the same short clips starting with his first clip of British singer Adele.

Juju Vine should really work on his antics and not only be reduced to social media short clips if he really wants to make it in the comedy industry.

Closing off the cold night at the Molapo Piaza was Alfred Adriaan. By the time he got on the stage the mood was already down with most leaving soon after the organisers announced that Odeka was not in attendance.

The show was a total disaster with the organisers failing to give reasonable explanation as to why the ‘Gerara Here’ man did not show up again.
