Mdu Takes Revellers Down Memory Lane

The Kwaito legend was performing at BotswanaCraft on Friday alongside fellow South African musician, Nkosinathi Mankayi otherwise known as Nathi and Botswana’s female group, Unik Attraction. First to perform on the night was Unik Attraction, which was making a comeback to the stage, after a long absence.
Performing the group’s oldies, made up of Neo ‘Smallz’ Sematlho, Goitseone ‘Geel’ Lesaso, Ikgopoleng ‘GC’ Pule and Lilly ‘Lil M’ Moilwa, they played to revellers leaving them mesmerised.
It showed the Bo Marata Helele hit makers have been rehearsing judging by their dancing, but would need to do more if they are to win the many hearts of the hard to please local fans and make a mark again in the industry, which has evolved quite a lot since they took their leave.
They performed songs such as Go Lekane, Bo Marata Helele and Matsale, which made them household names in the early 2000s, and warmed up the stage nicely for the night.
Then, Nathi took over from where Unik Attraction left off, and increased the tempo a little. The Nomvula hitmaker was performing live, and he had the female fans eating out of his palm, screaming and asking for more. The award-winning Afro-pop star performed some of his popular hits such as Amagama, Qeqe, and Nomvula.
The moment Mdu set his foot on stage music revellers, knew they would be treated to a beautiful night of good music. The man nicknamed ‘The Godfather’ reminded everyone why he is labelled a Kwaito legend.
He took to the stage with his hit track Chomi Ya Bana, making everyone sing and dance along. He fired things up when he performed the late Brown Dash’s Phansi Komthunzi Welanga and Vum Vum.
He also performed songs such as Tsiki Tsiki Yo, Sabela and Siya Jola much to the delight of the fired up crowd.
