In a show that had a low turnout due to events such as Miss Botswana, Boleseng tried his best to make the night worthwhile for those who attended. The show started with a live performance from talented vocalists, Crossover.   The group is made up of the duo of Kago Regoeng and Gape Motswaledi.  To show their affection towards their fans, Crossover performed a beautiful piece titled You Are Loved.

To cater for everyone, the group switched between jazz, pop and rock. They sealed their performance by singing traditional songs in a classic way.

From there, Moroka Moreri mesmerised the audience with his poems and jokes.   He confessed that he was there to support Boleseng on his big night. Moreri brought along a group of upcoming poets to give them a chance to shine too.  They all managed to hype Lister Boleseng’s Moratiso album.  The main man himself finally arrived on stage after a lot of anticipation from the audience.  Being a self-confessed instrumentalist, Boleseng didn’t waste time, and let the saxophone speak for him.  After performing a song called Dumela, Boleseng then made a follow-up song called A Re Bineng, which is a tribute to a late friend of his.  His fans liked the performance of a song from the Moratiso album called Ke Swa Hela.  Being a man who is lyrically powerful in Setswana love songs, the audience was more appreciative when he sang the lyrics, “…o lesapo la masatswana…”. Boleseng confessed afterwards that the song meant so much to him.  He then introduced his daughter, Refilwe Boleseng, to the stage and together they performed their duet.

Like Father Like Daughter, the two managed to show everyone that music runs in the family.

Boleseng then gave his daughter a chance to show everyone what she is made of in a solo performance. Refilwe didn’t waste the chance and left the audience wanting more with her wonderful voice.

For a woman who started singing at an earlier age, Refilwe outdid herself and did her father proud. The fun of jazz did not stop there, Boleseng continued to dazzle his fans until midnight.
