Softball team off to US for World Cup

 

Botswana is ranked number 43 after dropping 10 places since 2017.

The country last took part in the competition in 2013 in Brampton, Canada and finishing in position 13. Botswana is in Group A with the host, USA, which is ranked number one in the world. Botswana takes on the host in the opening match.

Other countries in the group are Mexico ranked fifth, and Czech Republic, who are number 15.

Botswana qualified for the championship after finishing in position two during the Africa qualifiers held in Pretoria early this year.

South Africa finished first and also booked a ticket to represent the continent at the global competition. South Africa is ranked 28th, which is an improvement from position 35 from 2017.
