Satmos have sent an SOS to Mading

A group of supporters reportedly wrestled the club from Mading towards the end of the season, blaming him for last season’s dismal campaign as the team was relegated from the Premiership.

Mading told Mmegi Sport he had surrendered the club to the supporters following some bickering that was growing behind the scenes at the club.

“A lot happened towards end of the (last) season,” he said.

“Some people thought I was not running the club properly, although they did not come to me directly, they were passive and because of my health at the time I could not entertain some other things and I left the club.”

He said the club chairperson, Monnakgotla Mojaki has since approached and informed him that the players have not returned for pre-season preparations and they have requested him to assist.

“Mojaki has come to me to inform me about the current situation at the club and pleaded that I help them get the players back to resume pre-season and I have agreed to assist in that regard,” he said.

He said he is returning because he owes it to the late Sam Sono who entrusted him with the team. He also said he has informed the chairperson of what his plans and expectations are going forward.

“For the sake of some other things, I will return. I have run this team with the late Sam Sono and he trusted I could take the team forward,” he said.

“I don’t have a problem with working with them (supporters) but I have given them the model I want and we are yet to reach an agreement on certain administrative issues and how we are going to carry the team forward,” he added.

Mojaki confirmed he had met Mading and referred all the questions back to him (Mading).

First Division chairperson, Mpenzeni Sambandawe said they are aware of the current situation at Satmos and said they would only intervene when asked to.

“We know there is a problem at Satmos and we are open to assisting if we are called to. But we encourage them to do housekeeping and our wish is when the league resumes all the teams are competitive,” he said.
