Man arrested for murder and burial of girlfriend

The incident is alleged to have taken place at Morokwe farm north of Lobatse on July 5. Kelebogile Motswakwa’s body was discovered several days after the incident following an intense search for her as a missing person. Police said the accused reported the deceased as a missing person on July 5 and he was arrested on July 21.

The prosecutor in the case, sub inspector Boitumelo Chinyenge of Woodhall police station, pleaded for the accused to be remanded in custody as investigations were still at an initial stage.

“Investigations into this matter are still at initial stages and we are still awaiting a postmortem report. We have just recently arrested the accused person and we plead for his further remand in custody,” Chinyenge said.

The accused asked the court to grant an order for him to see a psychiatrist at Sbrana hospital as he was ‘still hurt’.

“I plead to be taken to Sbrana hospital for counselling as I am still deeply hurt by what I did,” Ntlame said.
