South African rising star with a remarkable voice, Ami Faku of Into Ngawe fame, was the entertainer of the night. Recently Bahama Lounge in Block 9 Gaborone has been making waves and Ami Faku made sure that she keeps the fashionable club’s momentum going.

First time on the Bahama Lounge stage, Ami Faku was so incredible despite starting her performance with some of her lesser-known songs to local fans like Ndikhethe Wena.

Ndikhethe Wena is the Eastern Cape singer’s debut single. The crowd at the club was mostly there to see her perform Into Ngawe, a hit collaboration between her and Sun El Musician.

Just like most artists do, Ami Faku (formerly known as Amanda Faku) stalled a bit as she sang her other song called Ubuhle Bakho. People loved Ubuhle Bakho despite their impatience to see her belt out their favourite tune. Ubuhle Bakho is a new soulful recording that was released earlier this year.

There is no denying that on that stage Ami Faku gave a spectacular show despite not having a big band backing her.

She eventually performed the song of the moment, Into Ngawe and it was magical as the fans sang along to the lyrics of a language they most likely do not understand.

As most people pulled out their smartphones, Ami Faku reminded the crowd why she shot to fame as a contestant on The Voice SA and caught the attention of the world with her performances.

Ami Faku is a special musical gem to cherish and with a song like Into Ngawe, the fans could not help but get emotional as they listened on.

Besides Sun El Musican’s wonderful production, it was listening to the soulful voice of Ami Faku on that Bahama stage had people eating out of the palm of her hand.

Ami Faku had to perform Into Ngawe twice because the fans just wanted more.

Overall her breathy yet strong vocals made her debut performance in Botswana a memorable and incredible experience.
