All set for Miss Botswana 2016 grand finale

Twelve aspiring queens will battle it out for the top spot as they are all hungry to be crowned Miss Botswana 2016 despite not knowing cash prizes which will be announced during the pageant.
“The girls are currently at the bootcamp excited about the grand finale. They are in high spirits as they are all looking at the crown,” said Miss Botswana media director, Tshepo Maphanyane.
With this being the 50th Miss Botswana pageant, Maphanyane said it would be a spectacular show, as it will reflect where the country is coming from and where it is going.
She said the models are working on the final touches for the pageant as they have all matured into fully-fledged contestants from the bootcamp sessions they have been going through.
During the sessions different experts that range from fashion, academic, trainers, cultural and former Miss Botswana queens, were assessing the models.
Maphanyane said as Miss Botswana they have recruited local fashion designers such as Thabiso Dibeela, Lesedi Matlapeng, Botho Chalebgwa and Aobakwe Molosiwa to dress up the models throughout the night.
“As a way of also promoting the local arts industry we have invited local musicians to perform during the night,” she said without revealing the artists. So far Mpho Sebina is the only artist known to be performing at Miss Botswana, this has been known through Facebook posts by management.
The models have also been working hard with individual respective campaigning strategies especially on the digital media as they have been asking for the public to vote for them.
“We have taken the models on a media tour on different platforms so they can interact with the public,” Maphanyane said.
The outgoing Miss Botswana Seneo Mabengano seems to be excited, as she will be handing over her crown to a new queen.
“Had a great time today at the gym with the Miss Botswana 2016 Top 12. I got to fit in that Miss Botswana dress that I’ll be crowning In #”WhoIsOurNextQueen #”MissBotswana2016Preparations (sic),” Mabengano said in one of her recent Facebook posts.
