Steak Money told Showbiz that he opted for Kwaito as it inspired him during his childhood and the only genre that he can express himself fully and better. “I released my first album entitled ‘Basimanyana Mamela Meropa’ in 2009 under Ruff Riddims; it was a mixture of Kwaito and House Kwasa. So this time around because I was working alone, I wanted to do something that is in my comfort zone, Kwaito so that I could express myself fully,” he said.

He said he has long loved music as he was always around musicians. He said he was a traditional music dancer at primary school and in the school choir at Lotsane Secondary School.

The Palapye-born artist revealed that ‘Gerara Here’ simply means ‘get out of here’.

“The lyrics of the song says, ‘Get out of here because you don’t know why we are here,’ so it is a celebratory song which simply wants to do away with people who come with something negative with an intention to spoil other people’s fun,” he explained.

Meanwhile, the upcoming artist said the single is not yet in stores as the intention was to remind fans that he is still around but a few CDs are available for promotional purposes. He said the single is paving way for the full album, to be released soon.

SteakMoney said he has already shot the video for the single, which is only available on You Tube and facebook and was shot by Paul Dayz and produced by Chef Gustos.

He said he had performed the song in several occasions including All White Party, Kasi-2-Kasi Show in Ramotswa, charitable events and Flava Dome where it received positive feedback.

The 24-year-old artist, who is inspired by Vee Mampeezy, decried ill treatment by some promoters in Palapye who take advantage of them and want free performances saying is a way of gaining exposure.

He also revealed that as an upcoming artist, he is still facing financial problems to get a proper studio and quality broadcast material. He said his first album was funded by Ruff Riddims, whilst this time around he funded his single through the prize money he won in last year’s Chibuku Road to Fame Talent Show.

He pleaded for support from Batswana saying it is important to nurture young talent, as they are the future stars of the country.
