The bus was bought in May 2016 but did not last long on the road and was returned to the dealer in 2017.

According to information reaching this publication, the bus was bought for around P3 million but had to be returned due to faults.

It only made one trip to Lesotho with the BNSC social club. An official at Scania declined to discuss the issue at length, saying it was a legal matter. “I cannot comment beyond what they have told you.

It is an ongoing legal matter,” the official said, before hanging up the phone. It is reported that the BNSC is still paying monthly installments for the bus, despite returning it to the dealer.  “BNSC have decided to seek legal assistance as they feel aggrieved,” the source said.

The source added that the bus had body defects hence the decision to return it.  BNSC chief executive officer, Falcon Sedimo said there are parties who have been engaged to deal with the matter and it is currently not for public discussion.

The Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development, Tshekedi Khama told Mmegi Sport that the matter would be discussed by the relevant authorities. He said they do not want any of the parties to find an excuse not to deliver.
