The event coordinator, Michael Sekaba, told Arts & Culture that they wanted to strengthen the bond between children and their parents. This, after realising that in most cases, parents had a tendency of forgetting about their children when going for recreational activities.

“You will find that in many instances, parents go out and have a great time without their children. We want to eliminate this mentality.

We are giving parents an opportunity to sit at a corner with their children and have fun. We want them to bond and play together,” he emphasised.

Sekaba said the event will be filled with many activities that would take parents back to their childhood competitions such as koi, debeke, nhele, karaoke, dance, tag war and others.

There will also be competitions for children such as horse-riding, quad biking, Play Station, pool tournaments, five-a-sides, 10 jumping castles and more.

There will also be clowns, water slides and others.  The clowns billed perform at the event include Sankara Magic Man and Stilts Masters both from South Africa. He said they intend to nurture children’s talents through various competitions such as dancing and singing.

He further said they plan to host the event on a monthly basis to give families quality time together.

South African disc jockeys, Dr Monyeni and Deep Andz will prove music at the event.  On the local front,Bentiq Soul, DJ Bunny, DJ Bopgie, Crespo, among others, will also showcase their talents.

The event starts at 8am till 12 midnight. Tickets are sold at P25 at all Spar Superstores and P40 per child while for adults they would be pre-sold at P50 and go for P60 at the gate.
