Talking to Showbiz about the relationship, Diva Vebrok explained that after posting her pictures with the spiritual doctor on her Facebook page, a lot of people including some from the media started calling his lover a ‘blesser’.
“I am the one who posted my photos on my page because I have nothing to hide. Like any other woman who would like to be seen with their sweetheart, I did what was right for me. But I was disappointed to hear some journalists claiming that they got the gossip from some of my friends,” Diva Vebrok said.
The musician informed Showbiz that she would have difficulties if her family had a problem with her relationship, but she is a happy girl because the whole family, including her mother has accepted her relationship with one of Africa’s powerful spiritual doctor. “Let me tell you this, my mother loves this man, so why should I listen to petty talk going around the streets?” she asked rhetorically.
She highlighted that Bonsam is not her blesser, and she is so proud of their relationship. She added that she really loves him and nothing will change her feelings for him. “Who are these people to choose a man or partner for me and what does it take to be a good man for a woman like me?” Diva Vebrok asked.
Diva Vebrok stressed that Bonsam has a right to be loved regardless of whether he is a spiritual doctor or not. “We have traditional doctors and sangomas here in Botswana, both men and women, and they are dating or married to non traditional or sangoma individuals. They are happily in love, but no one is blaming them. So why me or Bonsam?” Diva Vebrok wondered.
Diva Vebrok believes that she is old enough to make the right decisions about her life, hence dating the man who she says also loves her. She said people should learn to respect other people’s relationships.
“You know I never tell or advise any person about their relationship. I am not a marriage counselor,” she said.
About marriage rumours, and moving to Ghana soon, Diva Vebrok laughed before saying, “this is a relationship like any other, and if it is headed for exchaning vows, I would be so happy, and I think Bonsam also will be a happy man. But for now we are in love, and why would I shy away from marrying the man of my heart. Remember this is not the first time I am dating. I have dated before and failed. Why should I not wish for a successful one with my lovely Bonsam?” she said.
Diva Vebrok added that while some people are busy critisising her about loving and dating the spiritual doctor, she is happy because her true friends have accepted her decision.
“My true friends, more especially Keotshepile Motseonageng known as Berry Heart, don’t have any problems with me dating the spiritual doctor, because they know there is nothing wrong with dating a person you love,” she said.
