Odega will however land in the country on Thursday, making a few stops around town before ‘cracking ribs’ on Saturday.
Odega, will perform alongside another funny man, South Africa’s Alfred Adriaan.
Locals expected to perform at the event include radio personality Phaphani ‘Paps’ Masalila, Charles Manase and Juju Vine.
Both Juju Vine and Odega made comedy breakthrough through their short clips on social media, which went viral. Juju Vine has staged shows locally.
His most appreciated video is his rendition of British singer Adele’s Hello.
The event maintains its original host place at the Stanbic Bank Piazza and is set to begin at 7.30pm.
In a press statement, the organisers at Sixx Pac Promotions said, “ the show that had been postponed due to the main act Nigerian actor and comedian Odega facing unforeseen travelling complications that led him having to make a U-turn at Kenya is set to make another U-turn back to Botswana on July 30 at Stanbic Piazza Molapo crossing.”
The organisers previously promised that patrons who had already bought tickets could use them for the coming event.
Odega’s Gerara Here video clip went viral three years ago, becoming an instant hit with Internet users.
The clip played a major role in his acting career, which began as far back as 1996.
The clip has been viewed by millions around the world earning Odega the Gerara Here title. American rapper 50 Cent at one point shared the video with his millions of followers on social media.
