Mother on the run wanted for daughter's death

She was admitted to Sekgoma Memorial Hospital for months and was only recently released.

Following her release from Sekgoma Hospital, she had been regularly receiving medication from Mmashoro Clinic. 

The woman had been reportedly cited around the village at drinking holes with a friend and the child. 

On Sunday morning she appeared at her house and reported to her family that the child had died in the room.

When the family attended to the child the mother allegedly made a disappearing act. Her aunt took the child to the hospital and reported the matter to the police.

Superintendent Molefhe Molefhe of Serowe police said the corpse of the child was at Sekgoma Hospital morgue where it will undergo postmortem. 

The station commander confirmed they were on the hunt for the mother.

“We appreciate the medical history of the child. The post-mortem will reveal the cause of death but in the meanwhile, we are in search of the mother,” he said noting that the woman could help with the investigation.
