One is from Serokolwane and the other is from Dimajwe ward. Councillor for Dimajwe ward, Elijah Masedi said more councillors are still going to resign because there is no peace within the BDP.

“We have always been accused of loving the former president Ian Khama and some BDP members even presumed that we are having secret meetings to campaign for Botswana Patriotic Front (BPF),” he highlighted.

He was quick to reveal that the BDP region has a tendency of calling unnecessary meetings where they question councillors’s BDP membership and devotion to the party. “Members do not trust each other anymore. Some councillors are consulting their members on whether to defect or not,” Masedi said.

He said the future does not look bright at his former party on the ground.  Masedi also revealed that they would be joining BPF and they hope to contest under its ticket. The other Serowe West councillor, Setlalekgosi Molefhi has tendered a letter of his resignation from BDP with immediate effect.

Mmegi’s efforts to get a hold of Molefhi were unsuccessful, as he did not answer his mobile phone.
