Harvey was speaking to the media specifically after touring the Mass Media Complex facilities on Tuesday morning. The Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man author said the Btv facilities were impressive, but the only problem is that they are underutilised.

Harvey is with some big name Hollywood talent scouts and producers to create jobs and opportunities.  He said he was in Botswana by invitation from president Mokgweetsi Masisi.

Harvey’s visit is a part of Masisi’s initiative of attracting investors with focus on creating employment for the youth.

“I am going to meet a lot of people here and engage with them on how me and my team can help fulfill the President’s initiative,” he commented on his plans concerning the President’s vision.

He said he wants to see Batswana utilise their potential in a manner that will benefit the economy of the country.

The six-time Daytime Emmy Award winner also said he is looking to partner with people in the media since he is a media person. He outlined the intention to help the media grow. “There is no need to start new structures when there are already structures in place waiting to be monetised in order to be fully functional,” he said.

He added the purpose of his visit among others is to address the youth and also explore investment opportunities in the country.

Harvey will be addressing youth at the University of Botswana Indoor Sports Centre on Wednesday for the President’s Initiative.

Harvey, who also brought his family along, said he would be giving addresses on how youth can develop the media industry.

“I am here to work on the vision that the President sold to me,” Harvey said. He further said that he is impressed by the vision that the President has for the country as it has the potential to empower the youth.
