Poor relations force Radipotsane out

Radipotsane led Wanderers to a historic Premiership promotion last year following successful playoffs. His contract with the club elapsed in May.  The two parties had been negotiating a new deal.

Boyo had been drilling the squad since the club’s pre-season programme.

Boyo said he was expecting a response from the club after their last meeting.  In fact, he met the news that his contract would not be renewed on social media last week.

“I have nothing to say at the moment. I heard from social media and radio about the decision. I will wait for communication from them,” Radipotsane told Mmegi Sport.

According to a source close to the club, there have been relationship complications between the club and the coach. “The differences are irreconcilable hence the club could not renew the coach’s contract,” the source said.

Club manager Kitso Maswena said he was not in a position to reveal details of the standoff after a successful promotion to the elite league.

“I can confirm that we have parted ways with Radipotsane, and a number of coaches have shown interest in the position. The club will hasten to fill the post as we are working against time,” Maswena said.

Even though he refused to divulge the names of the coaches that have shown interest, Mmegi Sport has learnt that former coach, David Bright has shown interest.

Others include former Sua Flamingoes coach, Dominic Changwe, Dragojlo Stanojlovic, Beston Chambesi and Michael Mogaladi.
